August 2023
Hey there!
August started with a bang. I did two different panels on AI.
First one was one BIC main stage, with Charu, Computational mama, and moderated by the awesome Sam Arni. We discussed a lot of different perspectives around creativity and how it relates to AI. The second one was also in the same week at the Fifth elephant conference by the awesome folks at Hasgeek. This one was about discussing copyright as it relates to creative work by AI .
It was interesting to have done two panels in the same week when I had never done any panels in my life before that. Ofcourse there are some jitters associated with it, but mostly it was just interesting to realise how talking about things that you know about, especially listening to other people talk about those things, can often distill your thought process so much.
Kahran and I have decided to change the format of our podcast, from the next season! We want to start doing interviews. We love talking to each other and the 30 episodes that we have recorded (and will soon be releasing) have helped us to learn how to communicate with each other more clearly. But there are so many different people that we know (and many more than we’d love to know) who have interesting thought processes, and we feel like just starting to do interviews will help us understand some of these people and their approaches to life better.
We also ended up making a lot of progress on the portfolio side, and hopefully by the end of this month we will have a bunch of projects up on our website. We want to try and do something interesting with it, and have been putting a lot of thought and care into how we are choosing the form for the projects to shed light on the best features of each project.
Charu and I managed to make so much progress in our game. Last month we had thrown out the art and setting and story. We completely reworked it all and now we have decided that our setting will be in india, in rajasthan. We used a lot of AI support in the project this time, and have probably figured out how to make it a better part of our pipeline too.
And a secret project that I haven’t talked much about before this, is that I’ve been working as a creative producer with the VFX team of a movie project. Yes that it totally orthogonal to almost everything else that I have done till now. It is still ultra fun and I’m working with a completely different set of people. More on this as the movie comes out :D
Hope you also had a fun August. Man 2/3rd of the year is gone! Can you believe it?
