September 2023
Hey everyone!
Last few months have been a lot of intensive therapy which has had an effect on my mind which I can only describe as “RAM freeing up”. So now, things that would have taken some X amount of effort are taking X/3 effort. Which is so great! Or is it?
Nah, my brain has just decided that all this extra RAM means we get to do more things now. I think that has been the theme of this year. Doing things that I am not really familiar with, and in most cases enjoying it. Its one of the fastest ways to grow for me. Whether it has been doing events, like I did the hackday in early september along with Gen AI community (courtsey of Nirant), Soumyadeep and Hasgeek, or doing the creative production work on the film. Both of these are things that are so far away from me as a designer or artist. It really makes me feel excited about the future and what all is possible.
Another thing I decided to do, in a stroke of inspiration was just to start working on a new game. I want to use inktober to do the art conceptualisation for it and I want to use NaNoWriMo to writing. For the longest time, I’ve wanted to make a choice driven game. So I decided to take some 15 days to plan out the game, and what I need to do, and now I am running with it.
I also decided to do another strange experiment. One of the major things that has been going on in my life is trying to make it easier for myself to see and acclimatize to my own mistakes and errors and not have any emotional cost associated with it. A thing that I recently learnt was that it takes about a year and a half for you to fully switch your mindset to the point that it becomes default. And combining these two things I have decided that I want to try and log down one error everyday that I noted, for 500 days (approx 1.5 years) .
Okay lots of progress also happening on the game with Charu and the work that Kahran and I are doing, and the movie project and the team I’m working with there. Oh man there is so much happening. But anyways, I don’t wanna take too long, and I hope you had a wonderful last month and I will see you around!
